New Year’s Wellness Resolutions

(That Don’t Require a New Personality)

AKA: How to “Get Healthy” Without Crying, Quitting, or

Becoming a Green Juice Person.

Every January, the internet aggressively informs us that THIS is the year we:

  • wake up early,
  • work out daily,
  • meditate for 45 minutes,
  • and stop eating bread like it personally wronged us.

By January 10th, we are tired, sore, and googling “Is resting a form of exercise?”

So, this year? We’re doing wellness for real people. Low pressure. High comfort. Zero martyrdom.

Also please consult your medical doctor before beginning any recommendation or regimen. We put this info out there so that you can get ideas to improve your health. But we do not know your situation. So always be careful and check with your doctor before starting any recommendation.

If your workout plan requires motivation, perfect joints, or loud encouragement — it’s not sticking.

We’re choosing movement that feels suspiciously doable. 😬

Low-Impact, High-Win Movement

(aka: exercise that doesn’t betray you)

The walking pad: My biggest flex this year is finally getting a walking pad for my office. No more excuses about the bad weather or dangerous potholes rolling ankles here. It has been super easy and convenient to get my body moving in a way that won’t hurt me long term. Helloo fibromyalgia!! We're talking to you! I started small with 3 to 4,000 steps per day, and it has been a game changer for increasing blood flow and gaining muscles quietly. I should have gotten one of these years ago. To shop the one I got its here to the right. Affordable, compact and works great!

A compact walking pad for low-pressure indoor movement.

A gentle rebounder trampoline for lymphatic movement, circulation, and pretending you’re “just bouncing”. I started with a rebounder last year and it's been amazing getting rid of lymph/swelling in my legs and building new muscle. Make sure you start VERY gently! Do not try to do like this lady over here doing air straddles on day one. Youtube has fabulous rebounder videos. My personal favorite Youtubers are Jump&Jacked , I Jump Instead and Mirna’s Aerobic Studio. Check them out! They are so fun!

A vibration plate for days when you want results but not effort. Its perfect for:

Blue vibration plate with accessories
The compact vibration plate and included accessories.
Vibration plate full-body conditioning uses
Suggested uses for soreness, muscle engagement, and relaxation.
Woman using a vibration plate while seated on a sofa
A low-effort way to work a little movement into television time.
  • low energy days
  • joint-friendly movement
  • “I want to do something but not everything” moods

You stand on it.

It vibrates.

Your muscles engage without you having to hype yourself up.

Effort? Minimal.

Results? Surprisingly real.

I have it placed under my couch, and will pull it out and put my feet on it while watching TV. So if my workout looks more like this lady on the couch to my right here... I’m good with it. At least we got it in! 💁‍♀️ Win/Win
